As part of the DACH Legal team, you will contribute value to the business by assisting in revenue generating customer contracts and to reduce the legal risks for the company by intervening in the decision-making process as early as possible and thereby to improve the business profitability.
We are therefore looking for a Head of Legal Switzerland who will be responsible for delivering optimum legal services to all business units of DHL (Express, DGF, Freight and eCommerce) in Switzerland starting as of 1 January 2025, or upon agreement.
Detailed Description
- Provide comprehensive ?one stop shop? of legal services to all DHL business units, central holding/non-operative entities and other internal clients in the country.
- Ensure that all business units in the country comply with laws and regulations applicable to the business units.
- Implement country legal strategy to ensure effective use of common tools and consistent reporting.
- Support other corporate functions (such as Compliance) by delivering the legal service component necessary in overall attainment of their goals.
- Design and advise on legal risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage the Legal Team in Switzerland.
Stakeholder Management
- Selects, briefs and manages external legal counsel necessary for provision of legal services to business units.
- Represents the Company in negotiations with partners, customers, suppliers, governmental and regulatory authorities.
- Represents and defends the Company?s interests in any litigation or other adversarial proceedings.
Professional Expertise
· Master?s Degree (or Lic. Iur.) of a Swiss law faculty.
- 5 ? 10 years of legal practice either within commercial law firm or in in?house legal department.
- Experience with managing a small legal team or ability to manage.
- Ability to apply legal knowledge and expertise into business environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good understanding of DHL?s express and logistics business activities. experience in transport and logistics law a plus

- Proficiency in German and English; good command of French.
